My first solo show is opening on 15th May at Tetbury Goods Shed. This is exciting news for me and I am delighted to have been invited to show my work at the magnificent arts and performance venue in the beautiful Cotswolds market town.
This huge venue gives me the opportunity to exhibit my large degree show work that I’ve never been able to show together in one space due to its size. I am also showing work that I have created since moving from Devon to The Cotswolds. Equally beautiful locations, I have found myself challenged by the change in perspective and the colours that one observes in Gloucestershire. I can see now that it has taken me on a journey to deepen my understanding of colours and colour theory. I consider all of my work to be a ‘self portrait’ me. Not an image of me, but it holds my experiences, my observations and my energy in a different language to words. Of course, once the work goes out into the public domain it takes on the observations and energies of the audience and how they relate to it. When someone says to me that they find my work uplifting and energising I am delighted and if they want to display in on their walls and have it in their home I am honoured.
There is much to see at Space & Place exhibition, please come and visit. It’s on from 15th May to 16th June 2024. I am having a ‘Meet the Artist’ day on Saturday 25th May from 11-3pm. I will also do my best to be at the show as often as I can. If you are going drop me a note or check in with the venue as they sometimes have concerts and performances on and it means they close to the public.
